A very UN-birthday Tea Party

"Lastly she pictured to herself...how she would keep the simple and loving heart of her childhood. How she would gather about her own children one day and make their eyes bright and eager with many a strange tale, perhaps even with the dream of a wonderland of long ago; and how she would feel with all their simple sorrows, and find a pleasure in all their simple joys, remembering her own child-life and the happy summer days. THE END". In every mother's heart lurks the simple wisdom of beautiful Alice. Her words feel like my own.

With one particular "happy sunny day" in mind, I was asked to help bring to life the most lovely, very un-birthday, birthday TEA PARTY. If anyone can bring back the nostalgic whimsy of childhood novelties...Alice can. Along of course, with the aid of Sir Rabbit, The Queen and the charmed Mad Hatter, in a fitting MADCAP garden tea party for pint sized tots. Guests were cleverly greeted with girlishly sweet Alice hand-stitched aprons and be-ribboned headbands, tarnished teapots and mismatched vintage china teacups. Tiny hands were served High Tea dainties and "EAT ME" sweet treats joyfully under the trees beneath dancing lanterns, for the grandest of UN-BIRTHDAY FUN for 5 year old Elise. Surely we made the refined misfit Mad Hatter proud, in any event! (remember, as always, turn up the volume for optimal viewing).
