A very UN-birthday Tea Party

"Lastly she pictured to herself...how she would keep the simple and loving heart of her childhood. How she would gather about her own children one day and make their eyes bright and eager with many a strange tale, perhaps even with the dream of a wonderland of long ago; and how she would feel with all their simple sorrows, and find a pleasure in all their simple joys, remembering her own child-life and the happy summer days. THE END". In every mother's heart lurks the simple wisdom of beautiful Alice. Her words feel like my own.

With one particular "happy sunny day" in mind, I was asked to help bring to life the most lovely, very un-birthday, birthday TEA PARTY. If anyone can bring back the nostalgic whimsy of childhood novelties...Alice can. Along of course, with the aid of Sir Rabbit, The Queen and the charmed Mad Hatter, in a fitting MADCAP garden tea party for pint sized tots. Guests were cleverly greeted with girlishly sweet Alice hand-stitched aprons and be-ribboned headbands, tarnished teapots and mismatched vintage china teacups. Tiny hands were served High Tea dainties and "EAT ME" sweet treats joyfully under the trees beneath dancing lanterns, for the grandest of UN-BIRTHDAY FUN for 5 year old Elise. Surely we made the refined misfit Mad Hatter proud, in any event! (remember, as always, turn up the volume for optimal viewing).

Sunshine Flower Power BEACH FUN

Daisies for the birthday girl's LOVE of all things flower-power and sunshine, surf, beach bubbles and sweet treats for all to enjoy. It was a summertime classic beach themed event for Happy Birthday Girl Jaida. An absolute pleasure designing this for perfectly lovely you.

Captain Underpants

High in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, it's CAPTAIN BIG BOY UNDERPANTS! SUPERlicious, SUPERfantastical, SUPERkool, SUPERhero celebration. My youngest toddler recently acquired a membership to the family's BIG BOY CLUB- Master of the Underpants domain. He is our newest superhero in the superhero walk of fame. He runs faster than a speeding bullet (to the bathroom) and leaps over tall buildings (built from stacked tissue rolls) and has superpowers beyond all mommy comprehension with magic underpants on his head. This my friends, deserved a cupcake! With friends and family we celebrated superhero style, powered on magical rainbow goodness, it was an event my little man will not surely forget. He is my benevolent little superhero and I am honored to be his sidekick. Thank you friends for helping me salute my Captain Big Boy Underpants on his very momentous accomplishment in the world of toddlers and superheros. So very proud of you sweet boy... (turn up the volume for toe-tapping, smile-wearing, underpants dancing, superhero kind of fun).

Teeny Wahine Event

The morning sun streams through the window and the birdsongs trill as I type, and along with it comes a comfort and a joy that only the Summertime can provide. I welcome the little seasonal luxuries that beckon lolly lickin', popsicle drippin', splashin' around, sand castle building kind of fun. This is when little girls don itty bitty, teeny weeny bikinis for a wahine luau celebration. It just doesn't get much summery than this! 13 Little Hula's celebrated ALOHA style with birthday girl Jenna, for a flip-flop inspired celebration worth remembering. Thank you Jenna for letting me be a part of your very special event. I loved creating it with you.

There is always something worth celebrating...

The sweet newness of beginnings and fond farewells to predicted "happily-ever-after THE ENDS". Big and small, these are the milestones on which my life is built upon. And so, all deserving, we celebrate here at the farmhouse, with cupcakes and themed lolly-lickers.
Dancing Feet. A 5 year old tiny danseur bids adieu to the dance academy and all its pink-cheeked ballerinas until next year with strawberry-kissed chocolate lollies in the form of tiny dancing slippers, for all near and dear.

Moving OnTwo years of preschool comes to a close with an emotional, hankie-filled graduation ceremony for 20 enthusiastic, counting and rhyming 4 and 5 year old cherubs, who are far more ready than mom, to leap into kindergarten and the unknown. Lemon and Vanilla graduate lollies lined up like little happy sunshine soldiers, and snow-white cupcakes flagged with "so very proud of you" words of encouragement, guide us to celebrate the wee ones and their first steps into their long education journey. It's the wee moments, that I choose to embrace and envelop my little ones in celebration. My youngest is potty training...next stop on celebration road- a big-boy underpants party! Here's to LIFE, big and small.

celebrate...65 reasons to.

If you have been following the happenings of Rosie+Coop, there was the planning of a 65th fĂȘte. The party was a fantastic success...celebratory and lovely was the decor, the cheerful palette of sunny tangerine, cherry and blush was just the POP! of Spring we had hoped for in the elegant, lofty and modern locale. Most importantly, vibrant and buoyant (with the help of a lively Pinot Grigio) was the guest of honor in all of her 65 glorious-ness! It was truly a treat to help put together this event for both the client and the honoree. A couple pics to view below and  you can find more of the details under the INVITE header. Cheers to 65 and all lifes little + big moments, worth donning a party hat for!
